CWC Rules ver 1.1
A) General Rules
B) Roleplaying Rules
C) Rules Regarding Strats
D) Wrestler Creation Rules
E) Discussion Board Rules
Ever E-fed has rules. Some of the rules are strictly enforced as others are flexible. Don't worry, we are all just here to have fun and we won't get on your case too badly. Maybe. If we do you will have had it coming.
[A.1] Only original wrestlers are allowed in the CWC. No real wrestlers. This includes rip-offs.
[A.2] The CWC is strictly booked. 100%.... Quality roleplays equal wins. The booking committee decides who wins and who loses. Quality is the most important thing as who cares about a guy that rants about something forever and is as boring as hell? Don't take this as meaning "keep it brief," since that isn't what we want. What we do want is interesting, well-developed characters; if you submit a 20K RP that's a real page-turner, you'll probably kick ass. On the other hand, if you submit a 20K RP that's nothing but a pile of crap, most of the fedheads will get tired halfway through reading it and will punish you accordingly -- especially if your opponent's 6K RP was a work of art.
[A.3] The CWC Fedheads reserve the right to say "no" to an angle, for whatever reason we see fit. Again, we are perfectly fair, but sometimes certain angles may not benefit the league.
[A.4] Stables in the CWC can only have a maximum of four wrestlers. No nWo's here. If you're wondering, tag teams DO count as TWO wrestlers. Managers and other ringside personalities do not count against the limit.
[A.5] If you quit the CWC and do not tell us well in advance (at least one week) of your next scheduled match. Then the CWC reserves the right to keep your wrestler booked to his remaining matches. Especially if we do not have time to find a adequate replacement. Meaning basically your wrestler will be forced to job out his contract (ie, his remaining matches.) Usually this is only one match. We are not the WCW and will not book matches and cards on the fly. If you know you are leaving the fed then all we ask is that you inform us, before it's too late to replace you in your next match.
[A.6] If you're the kind of person who signs up for an e-fed, loses his first match then leaves, we don't want you. If you have a wrestler who "has Mr. Perfect's entrance theme" or "has a mask exactly like Kane's" or his name is "Stone Cold Mike Austin" we don't want you. No clones, no real wrestlers, we want you to use your imagination. It's a lot more fun that way anyway.
[A.7] DO NOT APPLY until you have read the rules and more importantly thoroughly read the CWC guidelines. The CWC is not like the average fed you find on the net. Be sure you know what you are getting yourself into and be prepare you can do what is asked of you as a member of the CWC.
[A.8] On-card interviews, commercials, and other events that have no direct bearing on the writing may be submitted on the day of the event (preferably earlier) by 4:00 PM EST. These times may change without warning; always check your latest copy of the CWC Newsletter (or contact the head writer) if you are in doubt.
[A.9] The most important rule of all... HAVE FUN! Equally
important: at it's most extreme, this is merely a game; please do not
take it too seriously (we certainly don't!).
[B.1] There is a one-week rule in effect, meaning that you
must roleplay at least one time a week. The CWC isn't for slackers,
so if you don't roleplay for a week, you're placed on Hotseat!
status. Another week, and you're gone from the CWC. We're actually
pretty lenient with this rule, but that's no excuse for slacking off!
[B.2] ABSOLUTELY NO racial, sexist, or ethnic slurs! ONE TIME IS TOO MUCH; YOU'LL BE FIRED IMMEDIATELY! It's cheap heat and demeaning. Warnings may be issued to handlers who we feel go over the line and termination will ensue if the warnings are ignored or the problem does not correct itself. And yes, that goes for homophobic comments as well. I'm sure you can rely on your imaginations to come up with better insults than having to rely on such debaseness. see also: Discussion Board Rules
[B.3] If you will miss a extended amount of time or can't role play for a week or so. Send us a email and we will place you on the Hiatus list. You won't be booked to any matches until you inform us you are ready to return.
[B.4] Do not use another wrestler in your RPs without the permission of the handler of that wrestler.
[B.5] Do not address handlers directly through roleplays. It's pointless, it makes people bitter for nothing and it is not well looked upon by the booking committee. Same goes for personal comments. You are in PLAYING a ROLE which is why this is called ROLE PLAYING. Get it? If the character you have created is simply an extension of who you are in real life, good for you, but it remains a character nonetheless. This is fantasy wrestling, so matter how real it may be, everyone here is playing a character and that is an assumption which we use as a universal truth.
[B.6] If you wish to do a shoot, please ask permission. I know that sounds stupid and may even seem to be against the purpose of doing a shoot, but we're pretty open-minded guys. Even the wrestlers who did shoots on WWF TV a few years ago had Vince McMahon's permission. We'll just see if the entire federation needs to know if you're pissed off or not, or if it concerns only a certain group of people. Anyone who does a shoot without the "OK" of the committee will be fired. Period.
[B.7] You will be allowed to do in character shoots if it's in your wrestler's personality to do shoots. HOWEVER, you must have a shoot wrestlers approved by the CWC before you feel out the application. If we do allow for some one to handle a wrestlers that does a lot of shoot interviews then you will have to be a careful and walk a thin line. You still will be required to follow rule [B.5]. If one is allowed then there will only be one such wrestler. After all the ECW only had one Shane Douglass. Plus this will cut down on having several wrestlers trying to give in character shoot interviews.
[B.8] Watch your language. Use the rule of thumb: if they don't say it on WCW/WWF TV don't say it. Even so, they seem to go far sometimes&ldots; but you know what I mean. Besides, a good RPer will not feel it necessary to use foul language to get his point across. We can understand that characters get pumped up sometimes and those words may slip out, but a guy who uses it just as everyday common language is annoying and pathetic. So if you FEEL that you ABSOLUTELY HAVE TO CUSS, bleep it out (using "[bleep]" or ****).
[B.9] The most important rule of all... HAVE FUN! Equally important: at it's most extreme, this is merely a game; please do not take it too seriously (we certainly don't!).
[C.1] Strats are not required but encouraged. They help the
writers get a feel of what your wrestler would do during a match and
could even make your wrestler have a better performance because of
it, whether or not he is to lose. Remember, run-ins and strats will
not always go according to the plan. Strats will also help you if
your are in a tight role playing battle with your opponent and we
have to use the Tie-Breaker
rule to decide the winner of your match.
[C.2] Strats DO NOT CHANGE who wins each match. However if you hit the guy over the head with a chair and he loses because of it... AND he's supposed to lose, that's fine. But if you do it to the guy that's supposed to win, he could either get nailed by it and kick out after it, reverse the shot, or... well... anything's possible.
[C.3] Strats (whether match plans, sneak attacks, or whatever) are due three days before the event. For Monday Night Sudden Impact & House Shows, that would be Friday at 5:00PM EST. Pay Per View strats are due FIVE days in advance of the event at 7:00PM EST, allowing adequate time for well-written cards.
[C.4] Do not send in strats the beg for you to win.
[C.5] Do not send in strats asking to injury another wrestler.
[C.6] You are only allowed to send in 5 strats that actually pertain to the match your wrestler is participating in.
[C.7] Remember that strats will not always go as planned, especially if your opponent has sent in some very good counter strats.
[C.8] For more vital information about strats go to the CWC Guidelines page on the web site.
[C.9] The most important rule of all... HAVE FUN! Equally important: at it's most extreme, this is merely a game; please do not take it too seriously (we certainly don't!).
[D.1] Be realistic. No 7'8", 850 pound gargantuan that
love to do 450 Splashes and come from Hell. If you send something
like that in your application, trust me... it won't go over too well
with the staff. 8-)
[D.2] We are a realistic fed, so realistic wrestlers please. And we will keep track at just which gimmicks are in the federation at the time of your application. What does that mean? It means that if your gimmick is already in the fed or is quite similar to it, then we might reject it. We've all seen e-feds with tons of wrestlers named "Hades" and "Devilman" and "Hellfire" who all come from Parts Unknown or "The Fiery Pits of Hell", or feds that have eight or nine 7 foot + wrestlers. Check out the Roster section and read up on who's already in. If your gimmick is already similar to that of another wrestler you may still apply, but unless you're one hell of a role player, you will rejected.
[D.3] No clones, no Steve Austin/Undertaker/Sting rip-offs and clones please (by the way, am I the only one who noticed that Kane is a lame Undertaker rip-off?). Try to avoid names which exist in comic books, television programs, literature or any other well-known source of pop culture. I was in a fed where a wrestler had the name of "The Spawn" Al Simmons. He wasn't an un-dead creature of the night, he was just a regular wrestler whose handler thought it would make a cool name and figured that nobody would make the relation. Well after tons of roleplays by some of the "darker" wrestlers in the fed about "sending him back to hell" and the like, he dropped the "Al Simmons" part of his name, just so that he could stop being pestered. Same goes for composites like "Draven Lee". Hell people are not THAT stupid. It's just for your own good. And out f experience, although you may think it's weird to mention this, but NO MIDGET WRESTLERS. Anyone under 5'9'' is TOO SMALL. Remember, the simpler the gimmick, or lack of thereof, the better your chances are to get in.
[D.4] The most important rule of all... HAVE FUN! Equally important: at it's most extreme, this is merely a game; please do not take it too seriously (we certainly don't!).
[E.1] The discussion board is NOT for role
playing. Role playing is done through a Closed Flash Packet System.
[E.2] The discussion board on the CWC web page is there for everyone/anyone to use. Including non CWC Members. Discuss, trash talk, talk about anything you wish! (Video Games, WWF, WCW, ECW, Music, Movies, etc...) Just remember to please use suitable, non-offensive language when using the discussion board and everything should be enjoyable for everyone.
[E.3] ABSOLUTELY NO racial, sexist, or ethnic slurs! ONE TIME IS TOO MUCH; YOU'LL BE FIRED IMMEDIATELY! see also: Roleplay/Flash Rules
[E.4] Do not use the Discussion Board as a place to criticize or make degrading comments toward any other CWC handler.
[E.5] The most important rule of all... HAVE FUN! Equally important: at it's most extreme, this is merely a game; please do not take it too seriously (we certainly don't!).
